Install plocate without running updatedb

Asked by Jon

Is it possible to add a command line flag (or modify the plocate package) so that it doesn't run updatedb when installing?

The updatedb process takes a significant amount of time, and would be better if the user could choose to run this after installing instead of waiting hours and hours for an apt command to finish.

I suggest you report a bug. Mark it as a feature request. The initial scan could be backgrounded to free up the terminal

Can you help with this problem?
