KDE panel disappeared after update

Asked by craigster0

I updated a bunch of packages today for my Ubuntu 20.04 system. After restarting the computer, the KDE panel did not appear, which is a huge problem.

I will upload /var/log/dpkg.log if that is possible.

After searching the internet, I tried killing and restarting plasmashell. That didn't help.

From:
https://superuser.com/questions/1131728/kde-taskbar-missing

If you run:

mv ~/.config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc ~/.config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc-2022-03-01

Then log of and log back in, does it help? You can wind back, if needed with:

cat ~/.config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc-2022-03-01 | tee ~/.config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc > /dev/null

Then logging back off and on again.
