old package update request

Asked by Vincent Hendriks

The package provided by the repository has been updated since inclusion. Currently, the repository provides version 1.2018.13 for ubuntu 19.10, while the github repository has stable versions as far as 1.2020.15. I would like to request to update the package to this version as a standard library has been added since 1.2018.13.

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases

Ubuntu 19.10 is end of life (EOL) as of 17th July 2020. There are no more packages for it and no more support.

I suggest you upgrade to 20.04 for continued support. Ubuntu 20.04 is also LTS so will be supported until April 2025.

1. You should upgrade from Ubuntu 19.10 to Ubuntu 20.04
2. If you need a higher version of plantuml, you can try manually installing the package for Ubuntu groovy (1.2020.2+ds-1) on an older Ubuntu release. Based on a quick check of the dependencies I guess that this will be possible.

Package: plantuml (1:1.2018.13+ds-2) [text-to-UML converter]
Up dates from the main server. Is the current new package for Focal 20,04 Ubuntu.
This site list the needed dependencies for the plantuml package. https://packages.ubuntu.com/focal/plantuml

The other 2 posts are very correct about updating to Ubuntu 20.04.
Otherwise this package will not have any updates along with the much needed security updates.
Thanks
