How to remove video and keep audio in PiTiVi

Asked by Zane Hamilton Walsh

I wish to remove the video format and save the audio for a future compilation or even convert to CD. Should I try another program or is there a way within PiTiVi?

Simple! Select your clip, click the Ungroup button in the timeline toolbar, select the video (not the audio), and delete it (or move it).

Note that, however, pitivi won't allow you to render "only" audio (this is https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=590639 ). If you need to export only the audio, you might have some luck using Avidemux (if your clip is among its supported formats).

For what it's worth, I tried this with pitivi 0.13.5 and successfully rendered it as an mp4 with audio only and no video. VLC plays the file successfully.

Can you help with this problem?
