pigin not working....no buddies have shown

Binary package hint: pidgin

I have just loaded mint 7....started pidgin and set it up for my yahoo account....clicked show buddies...but it didn't.

I've converted this into a question. Here you can ask for help to configure Pidgin so we can see if this is a bug or if you're just having trouble getting it working. The bug says that you don't have a genuine package - what did you do to install Pidgin?

Linux mint is not supported here. I suggest you install an official Canonical release if you expect support in the official Ubuntu forum or use:
