I keep getting a "not enough diskspace" error when I try to install updates.

Asked by raul spring

I just bought a new hard drive and installed ubuntu o.s. 9.04 but I can't seem to download the necessary updates because i keep getting an error message saying that there's not enough disk space. how can that be if the drive is a new 20 GB hard drive? And I can't view videos from the Internet nor download music from the Internet.

Thanks to the person that can solve this issue.
