Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are bugs. Shaheen:

Your best bet for compatibility for making voice calls using your computer to both Windows and Ubuntu users would be Skype, assuming that you only want to use one program. Skype is available as a free download for Windows users, and it is also in the repositories for Ubuntu users. To install Skype on Ubuntu, simply open Synaptic (System -> Administration -> Synaptic Package Manager) and search for "skype". Install the 'skype' package, and Skype will now be available under Applications -> Internet -> Skype.

Shaheen:

What is the exact error you get?

If all it tells you is that there is a problem with audio playback, you will need to run Skype from the command line to get the information. If Skype only says that there is a problem with audio playback, please open a terminal window (Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal) and use this command:

skype 2>&1 | tee -a ~/Desktop/skype.log

This will show a lot of information in your terminal, and will also put the same information on your desktop in a file named "skype.log". Once Skype gives you the error about audio playback, close Skype. Then, open the "skype.log" file on your desktop and paste the entire contents here.

Thanks in advance.

I believe this points to an error getting information regarding a Bluetooth device. Does Skype itself give you any other details, or is this the only place any further details are shown? Are you using a Bluetooth headset? If you open Skype properties and go to "Sound Devices", what do you have Sound In, Sound Out, and Ringing set to? Does anything work if you click "Make a test sound" or "Make a test call"?
