how to auto-join?

Asked by Max Waterman

xchat has a way to automatically join a channel when it connects - this is so that I don't have to '/join #channel' every time I start the application.

How can I do that with Pidgin?

If you already have the IRC channel in your buddy list, you should be able to right-click on the channel in your buddy list and select an "Auto-Join" checkbox.

If you don't have the channel in your buddy list, open the "Conversation" menu in the channel's Pidgin menu (top left of the chat window) and select "Add". In the "Add" window, you can select "Autojoin when account becomes online", which will autojoin the channel when you use Pidgin.

I just tried this out, but please let us know if this doesn't work out for you.
