Problema al tipear la n

No entiendo porque al tipear la n me aparece este mensaje: "Se ha parado el registro. No se registrarán mensajes de esta conversación de ahora en adelante."
Lo peor es que la n directamente no aparece. Por consiguiente, tuve que instalar el amsn (que no me gusta porque es muy parecido al MSN!!). Por favor, una ayudita para este pobre fanatico del verdadero multiprotocolo Pidgin!!!

La verdad que es algo extraño
Si tenes la 8.04 de ubuntu, podes ir a una terminal e instalar mediante:
sudo apt-get install emesene

Es un cliente llamado Emesene, para msn, muy lindo y tan funcional como el
pidgin, muy parecido a pidgin. Proba con ese, otra cosa no se me ocurre.,
