Connection to MSN often lost (old, no longer applies)

Asked by Chris Y.

EDIT: This is really old, and while MSN still has a less reliable connection than AIM, I don't lose it often. I think it's more to do with the protocol than with Pidgin.

Okay, I previously couldn't connect to MSN at all, but at some point it just started working. However, I often lose my connection to MSN, and sometimes I have to wait a bit before I can connect again. What might be wrong here? I'm not behind a firewall -- at least, not one that would interfere with MSN.

Description updated, as at some point MSN started working again -- although the connection is very unreliable.

A change was made; I can connect now, but I quite often lose my connection. I don't lose connections with Firefox, Deluge, AIM, or GTalk... Just MSN.

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are bugs. I'm rejecting this because the submitter just marked it as out of date.
