switchspell for pidgin

Asked by Liox

What's the reason why such an important plug-in is not in the pidgin plug-in package?

one the one hand people might have different views about what is important...

probably it was not part of the purple-plugin-pack at the time the package was introduced into ubuntu. it'll probably get synced soon.

Switchspell used to be part of the purple-plugin-pack of Ubuntu, I've used it myself. And I'm dearly missing it.

It's a pity that a plugin so essential for anybody speaking more than one language was apparently dropped while plugins like gRIM (description: A completely stupid and pointless plugin) remain. Surely the Ubuntu community is more mature than this?

Can you help with this problem?
