automatic reply

Asked by Vincenzo Russo

Hi everyone!
I was wondering if someone can help me...I would like to write an automatic reply so that It could appear automatically if I'm contacted when I'm logged in as "absent". I have already looked into Pidgin's "Preferences" but I could not find out anything...
Anyway, thanks for your attention! =)

Hello

To set auto reply of messages you have to download plugin pack for pidgin..

To install the same

you need to have extra repositories enabled..
To enable all the software repositories do ref this link..

http://www.arsgeek.com/?p=2794

after getting all the required repositories enabled

Type the following command in a terminal (applications -> accessories -> terminal)

sudo aptitude install pidgin-plugin-pack

Different auto-reply messages can be set for different buddies (by right clicking on the buddy in the buddylist), or all buddies from an account (by setting the "Autoreply" property of the account from the "Accounts" dialog), or for all users in general.

Hope it helps

Bhavani Shankar.
