Sound issues

Asked by Terrapin

Hi all

I have just installed Xubuntu for the first time and I am getting to know everything, so far so good, apart from Pidgin's sound, I have everything working otherwise, and Xubuntu has recognised my Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS seamlessly, everything is working great, except any sounds in Pidgin, there are no default sounds coming through when I get any notifications, and when I try to assign my own sounds, when I click "test" nothing happens

is there a specific file type the audio needs to be, or are there any other reasons Pidgin isn't giving out any messages?

Thanks

try to change the sounds method in the sound settings.

if it still not work, try to run it in a terminal and look if there is any error output.

No joy there, none of them will allow the sounds to test.
