which ports to open in firewall for yahoo messaging?

In my firewall setting, I just open http and https. I can connect to my hotmail but cannot connect to yahoo. It always fail. Should I open port 5050 and 80? Or other ports? Thanks for your help.

Do you mean opening the firewall for outbound traffic? You should only need to open 5050 TCP, but if it can't use 5050 it will also try port 20, 21, 25, 37, 80, and 119 if 5050 is blocked.

Sorry, I was thinking the client, I don't think Pidgen tries the alternate ports. Just 5050/TCP should do it. :)
