How do I with Pidgin add a jabber account?

Does Pidgin support jabber protocol? If so, how do I set it up using my jabber account, which protocol do I choose?

I should add which version I'm using...

$ dpkg -l pidgin

Yes, Pidgin support jabber protocol.... you must use XMPP protocol
