Pidgin can't make facebook chat
I have just installed Kubuntu 10.4 (64-bit) & Pidgin, with the Facebook plugin. Facebook keeps returning "Incorrect username or password," and sometimes sends one Captcha screen after another to authenticate me. What can be done?

Perhaps try reinstalling pidgin and the plugin. It's strange that it wouldn't authenticate, I've never had that problem. You entered your full email and password, correct? Sorry for asking the obvious question.

In fact, I even went through the process with Facebook of changing passwords and re-entering the result at Pidgin. Predictably, Facebook accepted it as a sign-on at Facebook, but seems to be rejecting it coming from Pidgin. Someone filed a report with Facebook, having had similar problems with another chat engine, and FB replied that this was not their responsibility as they had not written the code for that chatter.
Don't use the Facebook plugin. Facebook supports Jabber (like Google Talk); see here.

Click 'Pidgin' at the bottom center of the page for instructions on setting up Pidgin to talk to Facebook.
Can you help with this problem?
