PIDGIN, Ubuntu 10.04, Lucid Lynx: A repeating error "Unable to add user 1"

Asked by radiogenerica

in Lucid Lynx, Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, on one single AIM account (of many) I get the error "Unable to add user 1 to buddy list." Not just one. A whole bunch, they just keep going. What should I do?

I'm not touching the keyboard
I'm not using any other programs
I'm not using any plugins
I've tried quiting and restarting Pidgin
I've tried restarting the system

I tried disabling my accounts and found only one AIM account was doing this. So I disabled the account and it stopped the errors from occuring.
I went on to the AIM website and changed my password. But it still happened, even after I updated the password.
What's up with this?
