Pidgin doesn't connect if NetworkManager isn't running

Hi,

I've set up my network using wpa_supplicant instead NetworkManager and I'm unable to connect to Internet, if I use xchat then I have no problem. I've tried the solution given in https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pidgin/+question/18973 without success, the only change is that instance saying "Waiting for connection" it says nothing now.

Any help is welcome.
