single library

Asked by Vincent HUBER

Dear maintainer,

Since Petsc 3.1, there is - as default - only one library that is produced, see :
http://www.mcs.anl.gov/petsc/petsc-as/documentation/changes/31.html

In the postint process, links are created thanks to update-alternatives like that :

user@master:/tmp/petsc% ll /usr/lib/libpetscksp.so
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 32 avril 28 15:23 /usr/lib/libpetscksp.so -> /etc/alternatives/libpetscksp.so

user@master:/tmp/petsc% ll /etc/alternatives/libpetscksp.so
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 26 avril 28 15:23 /etc/alternatives/libpetscksp.so -> /usr/lib/libpetsc.so.3.4.2

My problem:
I do have multiple PETSc isntallation, packaged and custom.

To compile some code - gmsh for example - that creates troubles.

I wonder why the package policy has not followed the petsc library management policy ?

All the best,

VH

Where can I find them ? (I'm not very confident with package managing)
