how to install PCMCIA-CS_3.2.8.orig.tar.gz

Asked by VA7DB on 2009-04-01

Having trouble installing the file mentioned, have done searches and all methods seem to fail reporting "Can't find file" although it's right there on the desktop and I'm typing as instructed in Terminal.
File is: PCMCIA-CS_3.2.8.orig.tar.gz
The laptop Compaq doesn't show an IP address although it recognizes the PCMCIA card as being there.

So in the terminal you're basically going to the directory with the file and:

tar xzvf PCMCIA-CS_3.2.8.orig.tar.gz

then:

cd PCMCIA-CS_3.2.8

then:

./configure

then:

make

then:

make install

Then your PCMCIA card is still not being recognized upon a reboot? Or are you saying you can not find the file?

When you're in the directory, in a terminal you use the following commands:

ls
(to list files in the directory)
and cd
(to change directory to another directory)

Sincerely,

Craig
