parcellite package

How do I use parcellite?

New to ubuntu.

I think I have installed parcellite, I see it in Dash. But selecting it doesn't do anything.

Is it incorrectly installed? Should I be seeing something somewhere? Any ideas?

When you run parcellite it puts an applet in the top panel, which is the hook for the user interface. Since the old applets are not compatible with the new panel it makes parcellite incompatible with Unity.

Clipit is a program that works in a very similar manner to parcellite, and it is compatible with Unity. Remove parcellite from your system and install Clipit instead.
