linux doc.to windows via email

hey, Im trying to send an openoffice doc. from a linux system to a windows system with microsoft word or works. It ain't working for me. Can anyone help.

Hello,

It depends, of course works. If you save your document, work in .doc format then of course you can send to people who use microsoft office, or microsoft works.

This you can do in the following way. File menu - Save as - and you type the document's name and then .doc. Example: composition.doc and you click ok. OO.org will ask that if you really would like to save in this format and you click yes.
Now you can send your document to windows users.

This is the same in the case of PowerPoint formats or Excel formats. Just there in Impress you save your work as .pps (ex presentation.pps).
