comma problem in RC2 oOoCalc install French version

Asked by Guillaume Le Bars

I installed RC2 version of oOo thinking it would solve a problem in Calc. I used synaptic and everything went alwright.However, I still cannot use the separation comma in cells with numbers under the French version. I heard it was solved in oOo.org2. I would like not to use oOovirg again.
Thank you for your help.

RC2? Do you mean Release Candidate 2? If so, I recommend you try upgrading it to the latest version with the following command at the terminal:

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

It will ask you for your password, you'll need to be an administrator (I mean not root, I mean someone in the sudoers list) and you'll need a quite fast internet connection.

It was, as you noticed, the Realease Candidate 2 and therfore I upgraded to the Final version. I still had to install oOovirg to solve the problem. I did it as an administrator of course and now I have superb commas in Calc... but also in Write and everywhere in OpenOffice. Is there any mean to get rid of it in Write while having it fonctionning alwright in Calc?
Thanks.
Guillaume.
