OpenOffice Impress no sound

OpenOffice Impress - No media player or able to add sound to my slides. I can get Media Player to open but it wont play. Plus when I open Insert Object's there is now sound to click on to insert into the slide. Any help much appreciated.

Hello Jeffrey,

In my opinion you have codec problems because mine is working just fine. Have you installed w32codecs if not then check here https://wiki.ubuntu.com/RestrictedFormats.
I am using xine engine both for totem, kaffeine, and they work fine, I can insert media formats into OpenOffice.org Impress and they are played on my pc. In my opinion install w32codecs and a xine engine.
You can get everything about restricted formats at the link above and xine engine at http://packages.ubuntu.com/.
