how can I or better can I export open office writer documents to ppt?

I think you have to manually move the open office writer documents into open office impress documents then you could save it as ppt

Writer to Powerpoint?

Writer is a word-processor and Powerpoint is an abysmal presentation maker, the two are not compatible. As Andi suggested, try converting your Writer document into an Impress presentation, and from there you can export to Powerpoint from the Save As.. dialogue.

If you really meant .doc export, go to File > Save As and change the file type to .doc.
