How do I copy selected text from Calc to Writer in an editable format?

Asked by Andre Mangan

When I try to transfer selected text from a spreadsheet (Calc) to a word processor (Writer) it automatically becomes a non-editable OLE file.

Pasting into Text Editor loses the formatting. Pasting into AbyWord it becomes an OLE file, same as in Writer.

I used to do this from Quattro Pro to WordPerfect but cannot find a way to accomplish it from Calc to Writer.

How do I paste from Calc to Writer in editable text?

Hi,
in calc select your cells and press {CTRL+C}
in writer press {CTRL+SHIFT+V} (or use edit > paste special)
and choose "unformated text"

Thank you very much, GerkoKees. The only thing that I would alter is to use "formatted text" in lieu of "unformatted text". Your suggested solution works like a charm.

Thanks for taking the trouble to sort this out.

Cheers,
Andre
