OPEN ODB FAILS

I keep trying to open an OpenDocument Database file (odb) that was created on StarOffice 8 and was running also on Open Office. Both applications ask me for a filter selection (about 50 filters). As I didn't create the database I have no idea which filter and it also looks like none of them works. The author of the database says there is no problem when he uses it. Does anybody has a suggestion on how to proceed. It would be really helpful.

Have you got Base installed? It is not installed by default in a new Ubuntu install. You can use Software Center (in Karmic 9.10) or Add/Remove programs (in earlier Ubuntu versions) to install it.
