is there a grammar check in open office? where do i find it?

Asked by dawny

I am working on a lengthy document, and would like to use a grammar check on it. Is there such a thing with open office, and if so how do I access it? In other word processing programs when there are problems with the gramatical structure of a sentence it would be underlined to draw attention to it, what are my options with open office?

OpenOffice.org currently does not have a grammar checker, though it is being worked on. Abiword does have grammar checking, though from this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/abiword/+bug/3197 it is not working right now but I hope they will get it fixed soon, but it is marked as low priority so who knows how long it will take.

A kind of dirty answer if you are not working with confidential documents would be an online spell/grammar checker like http://www.spellchecker.net/spellcheck/

Thank you Williamts99...
I appreciate your answer and help. Unfortunately it is a document that I can not check online *shrug* so I will just have to muddle through. Thanks again.
