OpenOffice.org starts up slow in Dapper Drake

Asked by Bajtalan Hunor

Hello,

This is just a personal view of a very annoying problem in Dapper Drake.
OpenOffice.org starts up really slow, really slow, I have to wait around 10 seconds, using breezy this was over 5 seconds, anyway it is widely known that openoffice.org starts up slower than ms office, but between distribution we should not have such a difference.

Get some cold facts...
1) open up a terminal
2) type in "time oowriter" *You can change oowriter to any app
3) Record the times in both distributions
4) Report back...
