How do I set up automatic pagination of a document?

How do I set up automatic page numbering in a document. When I go to the help file there is information about pages within footnotes, but not about how to paginate a whole document automatically. I want the page number for each page to be added in the document that I'm writing using openoffice.

Hi,

One possibility (perhaps it is not the best one) is to add a footer (Insert -> footer) and in the footer, the page number (insert -> field).
