UNO runtime Changelog missing

Asked by Ed Dunlop

I do not think this rises to the level of a Bug, but there are two security updates to openoffice that were just pushed out that have broken or missing changelog webpages.

The update names are "uno-libs3" and "ure". The missing webpage they point to is:
http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org/1.4.1+OOo3.0.1-9ubuntu3.1/+changelog

The reason I raise this is I usually do not install updates without documentation to protect against bogus updates.

Your link is bad. If it is logged as a bug and verified then simply watch the bug for developments.

The bad link (above) is copied from the changes section of the Ubuntu Update manager. It is what I am trying to report.

I have submitted Bug report #441786 for this.

Where did you get this link from?

If you go to

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org/

There is no 1.4.1+OOo3.0.1-9ubuntu3.1.

The latest update for Jaunty is 1:3.0.1-9ubuntu3.1, which are the updates I last remember being pushed through Update Manager (SECURITY UPDATE: fix integer underflow via crafted Word Document)

"uno-libs3" and "ure" are both referred to if you go to

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org/1:3.0.1-9ubuntu3.1

which is linked to by the above page

Does this satisfy you? It seem the link you used was quite plainly wrong.

If you follow the i386 link on the above page, and then this link

#
# openoffice.org_3.0.1-9ubuntu3.1_i386.changes (25.0 KiB)

to

http://launchpadlibrarian.net/32796247/openoffice.org_3.0.1-9ubuntu3.1_i386.changes

you will find that 1.4.1+OOo3.0.1-9ubuntu3.1 refers to the UNO packages ("uno-libs3" and "ure") specifically, created in the build

I'm running the amd64 build of Jaunty. I do not know if that makes a difference.

No it does not make any difference. Exactly the same binaries are built for both architectures from the same source.

Thanks Tony. This solved the issue for me, though it may still be a problem for other users of Update Manager.
