Having issues with read-only mode in OpenOffice.org 3.0

I somehow ended up in read-only mode when the file opened. I checked the properties, read & write are checked. I have no idea what's going on.

I forgot to mention I'm new to Launchpad, so I'm still learning my way around. If I posted this in an area I wasn't supposed to, I apologize.

If your document is in read only mode you can still use the icon "Edit File" to edit a copy of your document.

You can know if your document is open in read only mode by looking at the title of the OpenOffice window. There will be "(read only)" append to the name of your file if you cannot write to that file.
