cannot rotate inserted images in the writer program

I have inserted a photo in the open office writer, but I don't know why the ophoto appears rotated, I want to put it right but I cannot rotate it.

I suppose it is an upright photo (higher then wide)?
When you have a good camera, the information is stored as so called EXIF information in the picture.
Graphic programs read this information rotate it automatically and show the picture in the right way (though it is not "really" rotated).

Open Office can't rotate pictures so you have to open the picture in a graphic program (gimp is installed) and rotate it and then save it (under a new name).
