James Michael DuPont, thank you for asking this and helping make Ubuntu better. However, there are no new official OpenOffice.org releases in Ubuntu packaging anymore => Won't Fix

Please test for this problem in LibreOffice. If using Lucid or Maverick feel free to type at the Terminal:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:libreoffice/ppa && sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get -y upgrade && sudo apt-get -y install libreoffice
