Charts lose data range when program closes

Asked by CaptKJB

I've created a simple pie chart with only 3 rows in the data range. The workbook is saved in .xls format for easy transfer. Whenever OpenOffice is terminated and restarted, the chart loses the data range, and must be manually re-applied to display the correct data. What can be done to ensure the data displayed is correct.

Hi CaptKjB

I have done a quick test and do not have the problem you report. I am using ver 3.0.1 on Ubuntu 9.04.

What are you using?

Tony,

Thanks for answering. I got onto the wrong thread, as I am using 3.1.1 on windows xp. I don't understand why I am losing my data range connection, even though the cell references are correct. If I re-apply the referenced range, the chart returns to purfect.

Thanks.

Hi Kurt

Mark this as Solved .. it is in a way!

I'm as much an OOo man as an Ubuntu man, so I will have a look at this in XP tomorrow for you.
