animation within same element

I have a list of bulleted text that I want to appear one at a time. How do I do this? All the text appears at once. I want it to appear line by line; bullet by bullet.

Click "Slide Show" on the menu bar at the top.
Click "Custom Animation"

Highlight the first bulleted item you wish to appear on the slide.

On the right side of the page you'll see the Custom Animation Task menu.
Click "Add" under Modify Effect
Select the effect you wish to use, then click "OK"

Repeat with each bulleted item.
When you have completed all the bulleted items, they will appear in the order in which you animated them when you view the slide show.
