I think Adobe Reader is the only one that will allow you to edit and save a PDF. Evince "Document Reader" does not allow the modification of files.

To get Adobe Acrobat reader go to System > Administration > Software sources and in the second tab enable partner repositories. When closing it will prompt you to refresh the package list; do it. then from the command line you can install it with this command:

$ sudo apt-get install acroread acroread-fonts

I think OpenOffice in the

Applications - Office

menu can do this too. Certainly i've been able to save OpenOffice documents as .pdf" style files.
Good luck either way and regards from
Tom :)

Tom,

Openoffice.org writer mangles PDF formatting. I have created the following bug (with examples) for that issue:

Can you help with this problem?
