Table Data Bar not visible in data source view (Writer)

Asked by Wolf Pusztay

I no longer have the Table Data Bar visible when using the data source view to drag and drop field placeholders and to merge text. In othwe words, pressing F4 pops up the data source window, but there is no table data bar above it so I cannot search, sort, filter, or send data to fields. This is only the case on my ubuntu version; checking my suse version of OO version 2.2.0.2 works as expected. The accompanying help file in ubuntu makes reference to the Table Data Bar, which is how I found out what the heck it was even called :-)

OO release notes do not mention any problems like this and a post to the ubuntu forum received no attention, so maybe this is an isolated case??

Hi,
Pressing {F4} twice does the trick for me (however, i did not test this in Ubuntu... :-(
It could be a bug, when it works in suse, and not in Ubuntu. You migth want to file an issue overhere:

hi,
a bit late probably, but now i encounterd the problem myself. Rename your /home/yourname/.openoffice.org directory to something like:
/home/yourname/.openoffice.org-old (use nautilus for example end press ctrl-H to show hidden files)
then start openoffice again. Caution: this moves all your settings, the only way to get them back is to rename your old directory again....

Can you help with this problem?
