Problems inserting pictures to Document.

Asked by Eugenio

Hello comrades... Last week i had a VERY serious fight with Bill Gates, so i decided to said good bye to all related with him, and decided to install Ubuntu on my laptop as sole and only Op. system. Well, during this week i've been using and trying to understand how to deal with Open Office Word Processor. And i already had one problem which i really dont understand.....(probably im doing something wrong), but the issue is this :
When i make a document on this word processor, i have inserted some pictures and drawings to this document, then i saved it to my hard drive. (No problem at this point) ,..Ok...so...when i open this document again, if my internet connection is OFF, the document does not displays its pictures/graphics, etc( it only appears a border line the size of the picture with an URL address on top on its place ).... If i open it again with mi internet connection ON , BINGO ! it displays the pictures. So that makes me think that this pictures are saved "somewhere" on the net, instead of on my computer. My question is, How do i do to save correctly my documents in my computer (with its pictures included) , instead of somewhere at the net? ( i really dont want to be conected all the time just to be able to see my documents!)
Am i doing something wrong when i save my documents? Can anyone tell me the right procedure? I really will apreciate your help.

Eugenio. :D

Thanks for the question.

How did you insert the picture? If you just inserted a url to it, then this is what you get. If you want to insert the image physically into your document, you should download it from the Internet and save it on your drive, then select from the menu inside your Writer document Inset->Picture->From File and select the file on your drive.

I hope this helps.

Can you help with this problem?
