Outline numbering in Open Office.org

When creating an outline in Open Office, I wanted to restart the numbering. I clicked on the "restart numbering" option, but it had no effect. What else should I be doing? Thank you.

Hi,
this works for me:

in an empty document enter:
heading one

heading two

heading three

heading four

new heading one

now, goto
format > styles and formatting > select "heading 1" and apply with the filling bucket the style to the newly entered headings...
now goto: tools > outline numbering > level 1 > paragraph style "heading 1" > numbering "1, 2, 3.." > and click "ok"
notice that the headings should now be numbered.
Goto "heading one" with your cursor and click the button "restart numbering" on the numbering/ list toolbar...
