Open Office 2.0 - 2.2, & Macros

Two part question form a newbie Ubuntu user.

1) I cannot possibly download the latest version of Ubuntu as I am on a dial up of 28.8 or less. Is the OpenOffice 2.2 release going to be available on the previous Ubuntu release or will I need to get it downloaded directly from OpenOffice.org?

2)Where can I find information on writing OpenOffice Macro's specific to OpenOffice database?

I would try it at first at the OpenOffice Website (www.openoffice.org). Here is something about vba compatibility http://vba.openoffice.org/. Here is an introductions into Macros in OpenOffice http://documentation.openoffice.org/manuals/oooauthors/macros_intro_v1.pdf.
