I want to use double space and single space on the same document in open office. help!

Asked by Maeby_surely

As I am writing a dissertation, I need the writing to be double spaced, but when it comes to quotations, I want single space. There doesn't seem to be a way to do this. If you highlight a peice of writing and then change to spacing, the whole document changes. Is there any way around this? I really don't want to be there for ages doing all the double spacing parts myself with my spacebar! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You can always create a new style called quotation and format it accordingly. Go to 'Format' > 'Styles and Formatting', a 'Styles and Formatting' window appears. Right-click on a white space and you should see a 'New' button. Click 'New' and create a new style called Quotation with appropriate formatting.

Mark the paragraph and choose: Format > Paragraph. Choose Double regarding the Line spacing.

I've 8.04 and OO 3.0 and it works pefect.
