Turn on spell checker

Asked by Lonoy

I can't seem to make the spell checker work in Open Office. I have installed the Australian Dictionary via the wizard then gone into Tools/Options/language settings to ensure the checker is turned on there. The spell checker does not do anything after I complete a word nor does it make any difference if I select it via Tools.

Regards.

Thanks for this question.

What do you mean, when you say it doesn't make a difference. Does it still spellcheck according to the American spelling? Or doesn't it spellcheck at all?

Did you set the Australian spellchecker in Tools/Options/language? Do you have the AutoSpellcheck button switched on?

Thanks

Since my last post the spell checker is now working. I reselected Australian English (even though it was already showing as the default language) via the wizard, as it was already loaded it didn't download anything, then after a reboot the spell checker is working fine. I did not change any of the settings in Tools/Options/language since my last post.
Thanks for the reply.
