Is there any system to edit PDF files on OpenOffice.Org

Asked by RMH

Hello,

Im a beginner on OpenOffice. And hence have been desperately stuck trying to figure out how does one edit PDF documents on OpenOffice....? or even if its possible...

I was told that PDF files can be edited, combined and pages re numbered on OpenOffice.Org Drawing, but unfortunately I found out that hard way (after struggling with it for three days!!!) that you just can re-number or even number the pages. Can anyone please tell me if Im using the wrong programme to work PDF documents on OpenOffice and if there is a another programme...? or if anyone has figured out how to number the pages when using OpenOffice.Org Drawing?

Looking forward to a life saving answer from anyone.....
Menaka

The PDF Import Extension allows modifying existing PDF files for which the original source files do not exist anymore.
PDF documents are imported in Draw and Impress to preserve the layout and to allow basic editing.
It is the perfect solution for changing dates, numbers or small portions of text.
The PDF Import extension will also enable the PDF export into a hybrid PDF file,
which is a PDF with the embedded source file as ODF.
it requires the OpenOffice.org 3.0
