I am an old MS-Acess user - need info on how to think in OO

Asked by ShawnPals

I have become very accustomed to using "Update" queries, and even macros, in the Access world to manipulate data. It's point-and-click approach was easy for a non-geek like me to learn instead of SQL. Can OO-database perform the same functions, or do I need to teach myself SQL to "update" the tables?

I don't even know what M$ "Access" does, I assume that it is a data-base access program.

The Open-Office equivalent seems to be <a href="http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Database">"Base"</a>. Take a look.

If further info is needed it would be useful if you said what version of what database software you are accessing.

Hope this helps.
