I'd like to find a plug-in that will enable me to access and edit files with Microsoft office 2007 file extensions. Thanks for the help.

This question is now associated to "openoffice.org" package.

I suggest you to click on this launchpad page tabs:

- the "Answers" tab will allow you to see all already answered questions related to this package;

This might helps you to solve your issue, by the way is a good starting point.

Regarding your question have you already tried to open you files with OpenOffice...?

Please describe your question better, which extensions you are trying to open...?

Thank you

Thank you for the response. I would like to be able to access files with following extensions: .xlsx, xlsm, docx, pptx...

The convention Microsoft has used for office 2007 has been to add an "x" at the end of the older extensions previously used.

Thanks again.

I think you can open them but some of the features are disabled I opened a pptx document myself and it worked fine. Open office 3 has better support but is not yet included in ubuntu but should be in 9.04.

Hope that helps

OpenOffice.org Writer version 2.4.1 opens .docx files just fine. No plugins needed.

Can you help with this problem?
