Graphing an equation (line) help

Asked by won23

I have a simple linear equation ( D=360-5W) and I don't know how to graph it in OpenOffice Calc. I want to create a graph of the line. All help appreciated, thanks! :)

After opening ooo-calc do the following:

1) Define a range for your W variable (for instance A1 to A10). Fill this range with the values your W variable shall hold
2) Define a range for your D variable that fit the range for your W variable. In this example you could select B1 to B10.
3) Enter in B1 the following "=360-5*A1" (without quotes)
4) Copy to the clipboard the content of B1 (for instance by using your mouse right button)
5) Select the range B2 to B10 (Left click ob B2 and holding drag down to B10)
6) Paste the formula to the remaining cells (again with your mouse right button). You need do it only in one of the previously selected cells.
7) Select now all the defined cells (again left click on A1 and holding drag to B10)
8) Select from the menu Insert->Chart
9) Follow the Wizard (play with the various options to learn what they do)
10) VOILÁ

Hope this helps.

I did this, but how would I add another equation to the graph so that there are 2 lines ?

Right click on the chart. "Select Modify Data Range". Expand your range to include the additional 3rd column.
