HOW DO I TRANSLATE OPENOFFICE.ORG TO WINDOWS WORD

I typed a document in openoffice.org but when it was forwarded oneo my work computer didn't recognise it. It came out all gibberish.
How can I translate openoffice to windows word?

Thanks for the question.

When you save the document you choose as the file type "Word 97/2000/XP (.doc)" instead of OpenDocument Text (.odt).

This creates a normal Microsoft Office Word document.

Open the file -> goto File -> save as -> look for "File Type"

Open the file in OpenOffice, than in the bar select choose file --> save as, than select the name and under the windows of the dir there is a bar where you can choose the format in which saving the data.
