Word Processor: I want numbering off for good.

Asked by MarauderNo5

Automatic numbering, like with bullets and stuff.
I hate it with a fierce passion.

I will never ever ever want it. Ever.
I want to turn it off for good. For all eternity.

But, I can't even get it to turn off for a session.
Maybe I'm just too stupid to find the setting, but I've looked everywhere that makes sense to me.
Somebody help?

Have you gone to

Tools > Autocorrect... > Options (tab) and unchecked "Apply numbering - symbol:" and clicked OK?

This works for me.

If this answers your question, please mark the problem as Solved

Thank you for the answer as to turning off Bullets and Numbering. I also HATE HATE HATE this feature in all word processing programs, and until now have not been able to figure out how to turn it off in Open Office.
