How do you alphabetize in open office?

Asked by Jennifer S.

I am trying to alphabetize lists of movies and music. Can someone tell me how to do this in open office? There is no option for it. I'd really appreciate it.

You haven't specified which package you are using. Assuming you meant Office.org writer you would do the following:

0. Highlight one of the lists
1. Click Tools
2. Click Sort
3. A new interface will appear, ensure it reads alphanumeric, click ok.

Thank you so much for answering my question. Yes it worked perfectly, I had to highlight entire list but it finally worked. My open office seems to be a little different than most though. Thanks again!

Hello everyone

Where do you find Sort please? In Options you can click on sortlists but it won't appear alphabetically.

Yours sincerely

David-John.

Hi David-John

Can you post this as a new question and tell us where you are trying to sort (Calc, Base, Writer ... ?)

Tony

Hello Tony

I'm in Office Spreadsheet and I'm thinking I'm trying to do the same thing than Jennifer S. My Ubuntu-Version is 8.10.

Yours sincerely

David-John.
